ZooVille is a [[Zoophilia]] forum created on Feburary 22nd, 2019. It is currently the largest Zoophilia social-media site in the world and stands as of September 2020 with 55,000 Users.

==The Start of ZooVille==

ZooVille's creation began when [[Beastforum]] announced its shutdown to its userbase a month prior, in January 2019. It was founded by [[ZTHorse]] and several other [[zoophiles]] from the ex-Beastforum membership who felt the continuing need for a [[zoophile]] forum on the open Web. The new moderator team soon opened private chatrooms on Beastforum to invite prominent users from the forum into the initial funding phase, and to gather as many zoophiles as possible from Beastforum. This was given the project name "exodus".

After Project Exodus was complete, the initial startup funding was achieved and zooville.org (now zoovilleforum.net) was launched.

== Social Structure ==

The ZooVille moderation team held that the prevalence of censorship and strict rules on the previous [[Beastforum]] harmed the social growth of the [[zoo community]]. ZooVille took the base category structure of beast-forum and modified them to allow more freedom of expression and relax its moderation on speech and heated topics.

ZooVille is a free-speech-centric forum and allows the open discussion of politics, religion and other heated topics that are inter-sectional with the zoophile community. Open dialog is welcome with the moderation team, allowing for modification of the forum directly from user feedback.

== Zoophilic Content Policies ==

== Assets and Funding ==

Zooville.org (now zoovilleforum.net) is a non-profit website. It is funded through voluntary donations and via a single ad space. <ref>[https://www.zooville.org/threads/donate-to-zooville.11/ Donate to Zooville]</ref> Donations are accepted through cryptocurrencies and are auditable by the community. This allows transparency of community spending and keeps the userbase aware of current operating costs.

There is no paid membership VIP area and there are no exclusive sections on the forum. There is an honorary title of "ZooVille Philanthropist" given to those who donate $50 or more. This does not give them any special privileges over other users.

== Zoophilia Academic Research ==

Zooville.org (now zoovilleforum.net) is currently working with two universities to produce research studies into zoophilia.

The first is from Northwestern University <ref>[https://www.zooville.org/threads/northwestern-zoophilia-study-survey-phase-2.13927/ Northwestern Zoophillia Study Survey Phase 2]</ref>, and is being headed by Michael J. Bailey PHD.

The Second is from the University of Saskatchewan <ref>[https://www.zooville.org/threads/university-of-saskatchewan-zoophilia-study.18443/ University of Saskatchewan Zoophillia Study]</ref>, and is being headed by Alexandra Zidenberg and overseen by Prof. Dr. Mark Olver.

== September 2019 Data Leak ==

The Initial Launch of zooville.org (now zoovilleforum.net) used the vBulletin forum software. This was considered zooville.org's 1.0 phase and lasted from Feburary 2019 until September 2019.

This forum software was abandoned after the release (and subsequent exploitation) of a 0-day security breach, which allowed vBulletin to leak zooville.org's 1.0 database, as well as the data of many other major corporations. The leak wasn't a specific attack on the forum. <ref>[https://www.helpnetsecurity.com/2020/08/11/fix-cve-2019-16759/ Help Net Security]</ref>

After September 2019, ZooVille switched to Xenforo forum software. This switch-over meant all previous members had to re-register using encrypted email services. The forum also increased security measures and swept IP's from users on a regular basis in case of a future 0-day vulnerability on the software.
