During the period of August 2016 to June 2017 there was a large outbreak of ''C. jejuni'' in Sweden. It was the largest outbreak that has been reported so far. 5000 more cases than would be expected during this period were reported to the authorities. The source of the outbreak was contaminated chicken meat that came from the same producer.
