== Modifiers ==
Feelings are difficult to quantify, especially those in zoos, who are notorious for being very difficult to categorize with any specificity. To be able to describe oneself as precisely as possible within a category, the following variables are helpful:
* {{Code|$}} – Placed after any specific category to indicate that money is being made from that category. For example, {{Code|ZD$}} shows that a person loves [[dog]]s and is paid to work with them; presumably a happy zoo, for sure.
* {{Code|?}} – Placed after a category to indicate that don't know much about that category. For example, a person who has never heard of [[wikipedia:Multi-user dungeon|{{Abbr|MUDs|multi-user dungeons}}]] should consider specifying that category with {{Code|M?}}.
* {{Code|*}} – Placed after a category to indicate that the category is not possible for them, usually involuntarily. For example, someone who is unable to own any pets, for whatever reason, should indicate as much in the pet category with {{Code|p*}}; obviously a big heartache for most zoophiles.
* {{Code|&}} – Placed '''''before''''' a category to indicate that they have no interest in the topic. For example, if someone is not drawn to visiting animals in the pasture at night, they would express it as {{Code|&H}}. A non-zoophile who is not fascinated by intimate contact with animals would likewise use {{Code|&E}}.
* {{Code|!}} – Placed '''''before''''' a category to indicate a refusal to participate or engage with that topic. This is unlike the {{Code|?}} modifier which indicates a lack of knowledge while {{Code|!}} communicates that someone has enough knowledge about the subject to declare categorically an intent never to indulge in something, even passively or through an intermediary. For example,{{Code|!I}} shows a total disapproval of anything related to [[wikipedia:IRC|{{Abbr|IRC|Internet Relay Chat}}]], however {{Code|I?}} represents that someone doesn't know what IRC is.
* {{Code|^}} – Allows for the specification of two different subgroups within a single category, and is placed between them in order to differentiate between relationships to animal species in general versus to an individual animal of that species; the information which ''follows'' the {{Code|^}} refers to an individual animal.
