This is divided into two categories:
* '''Years known''' (how long you have known that you [[love]] animals)
* '''Years active''' (how many years have elapsed since your first sexual encounter with a non-human animal)

At your discretion, you may also state your age at either awakening, or append the suffix {{Code|A}} to indicate that the value represents how many years have passed since then. If including both values, separate them with a spaced slash (solidus) as seen in the example below. A tilde character ({{Code|~}}) prepended to either/both numbers once again signifies that they are only approximations, while a plus character ({{Code|+}}) signifies "not younger than" or "at least" and a hyphen-minus ({{Code|-}}) the reciprocal "not older than" or "at most."
* {{Code|Y18}} – I was exactly 18 years old when I first understood that I was a zoophile
* {{Code|Y18A}} – It was exactly 18 years ago when I first understood that I was a zoophile
* {{Code|Y0}} – I had never thought about being a zoophile until I went online.

Example: {{Code|Y-18 / -20}} = have known they were a zoophile since they were no older than 18 years old and have been sexually active with non-human animals since they were no older than 20 years old.
