See [[Zetacon]] There used to be a convention known as ZooCon which was a meet for [[zoophiles]] to get together and exchange ideas and contact information. That has long since been discontinued and nowadays zoos mostly meet in private or at small state- and region-specific get-togethers, however they do report attending furry conventions and sometimes post online, looking for people to meet face-to-face in an inconspicuous location where a lot of animal-lovers will be gathered together in one place. Conventions are also good because they negate the need to show up in a car and show off one’s license plate, and since all pets except service animals are banned from the convention, simply meeting there does not definitively prove ‘intent’ to engage in any illicit activity. After all, the only thing which can be done is a discussion and normal friendship or human-human (perfectly legal!) sexual contact… Conventions give participants the opportunity to not only meet others, but also purchase paraphernalia such as books, art, magazines, DVDs, and other souvenirs associated with their interests. There are often speakers addressing the crowds and sometimes activities that the con-goers can participate in. At some conventions [[statistics]] are taken in the intention of studying the furry community, and the individuals involved self-reported a 17% rate of [[zoophilia]] – the real number could in fact even be higher, due to the illegal status of [[interspecies]] sexual contact and the possibility of zoos altering their answers in order to prevent incriminating themselves or being judged negatively for their [[sexuality]]. Indeed, when homosexuality was prohibited in much the same way as [[bestiality]], there were far fewer homosexuals (or bisexuals) who were open about their orientation. ==References== http://beastiality.club/beastiality-club-extreme-animal-sex-content/the-encyclopedia-of-zoophilia/
