Explain your reasons on the article's [[WP:TP|talk page]], then place <code><nowiki>{{POV-check}}</nowiki></code> at the top of the suspect article.  To specify the section of the talk page, use <code><nowiki>{{POV-check|talk page section name}}</nowiki></code>. Articles using this template as shown above are placed into [[:Category:NPOV disputes]].

This template can take an optional date parameter in the format <code><nowiki>{{POV-check|date = <month> <year>}}</nowiki></code> or <code><nowiki>{{POV-check|talk page section name|date = <month> <year>}}</nowiki></code>. If the date is not included it will probably be added later by a [[WP:BOT]]. Articles using this template with a date are added to ''Category:NPOV disputes from <month> <year>''.

Use this template to request that an article be checked for POV ("Point of View"). The editor who adds the tag should address the issues on the talk page, pointing to specific issues that are actionable within the content policies. If this information is not added to the talk page, then this tag may be removed by any editor.

For POV issues which are disputed, use the {{POV}} template instead. For more information, see Wikipedia:NPOV dispute ("NPOV" is an abbreviation for "Neutral Point of View").

Usage

Place {{POV check|date=November 2024}} at the top of the suspect article.

Use {{POV check|section}} to tag a specific section.

Use the |talk= parameter to specify the talkpage section where you address the issue, like this:

{{POV check|talk=talkpage section name|date=November 2024}}

When to remove

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. You may remove this template whenever any one of the following is true:

  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard either that the alleged problem in the article was not a violation of the NPOV policy, or that it has been resolved.
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given.
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.
