This tag has been created in order to provide for a sleeker alternative for the distracting {{tl|weasel}} tag.
This tag will categorise tagged articles into [[:Category:Articles with weasel words]] but not this template itself. This [[Wikipedia:Template|template]] is a [[Wikipedia:Avoid self-references|self-reference]] and so is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopaedic content.

This tag is an inline alternative to the {{Weasel}} tag placed at the top of an article. This tag will categorise tagged articles into Category:Articles with weasel words.

Note that for "readers and editors seeking to improve" text, this tag "may be less informative than {{Who}}, {{Which}} and {{By whom}}" (WP:WEASEL).

Usage

A date may be appended using:

{{Weasel inline|{{subst:DATE}}}}

or just copy:

{{Weasel inline|date=November 2024}}

To highlight a particular portion of text, enclose it in the |text= parameter:
