This template places a lock icon (
) in the top-right corner of the page it is applied to. Adding this template to an article does not protect it. Protection can only be applied by administrators, and can be requested at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection.
This template is suitable for pages that are going to be protected for an indefinite period of time (e.g. Jesus). For pages that require semi-protection for a short period of time, please use {{sprotected}} instead.
Pages that use this template are categorized into Category:Semi-protected. For talk pages that are semi-protected, use {{SprotectedTalk}}.
