This template is based on the Cite court template. Currently, it has a bug. Please see how you can help on the talk page.

It is used to cite judgments listed in the BAILII database.

Usage

  • optional: country add ie for Ireland if an Irish judgment. Can add ew for England and Wales, although it defaults to this latter option.
  • litigants is the list of litigants, such as Miranda v. Arizona.
  • court is the code used by BAILII in the Neutral Citation Number to identify the court. eg EWCA for the Court of Appeal of England and Wales.
  • optional: division is the code used by BAILII in the Neutral Citation Number to identify the division. eg Civ for the Civil division. Not all cases cite a division - eg some Irish decisions.
  • year is the year of the decision, as indicated in the Neutral Citation Number.
  • num is the judgment number, as indicated in the Neutral Citation Number.
  • optional: para is a specific paragraph number.
  • optional: date is the date in which the court rendered its decision.
    • The output of the template is of the form: Litigants ([year] court division num), paragraph para
The names of the litigants is rendered as a link to the judgment on BAILII
