This template can be placed at the top of any category page for which it is normal that it sometimes is empty. This is typical for some maintenance, tracking and clean-up categories.
Experience has shown that people sometimes delete those categories, thinking they are no longer in use.
This template is also intended to be used to prevent these categories from being listed at Wikipedia:Database reports/Empty categories.
Options
- Adding
|hide=truemakes the template invisible. - Adding
|until="Month year"makes it alright to delete if empty beyond the until date (for use with dated categories). For example;{{Possibly empty category|until=June 2017}}
Renders as:
 | Administrators: Please do not delete this category even if it is empty! This category may be empty occasionally or even most of the time. |
