Usage
This template can be used to mark articles or sections with old or out-of-date information.
To add the date when the tag was added, use:
{{Update|date=November 2024}}
To specify what parts of the article need updating, use the first unnamed parameter:
{{Update|Foo [[bar]] qux}}
To display the date of the last update, use the second unnamed parameter:
{{Update||24 October 2024}}
To mark a section, use:
{{Update|type=section}}
or alternatively, use the {{Update section}} template, which produces a warning that the section (rather than the article) is out of date.

This template will add articles to Category:Wikipedia articles in need of updating.
Alternatives
- If there is a dispute about the need for an update, an out-of-date article or section can be marked with {{Out of date}}.
- {{Update after}} is an alternative for individual statements that will be out-of-date at a specifiable future date. It is a more recent and preferred alternative to Wikipedia:As of. It also adds articles to Category:Wikipedia articles in need of updating.
