After the 2010 arrest of Doug Spink and the subsequent media circus, journalist and animal welfare advocate Carreen Maloney took it upon herself to track down the truth and write about Spink's viewpoint. The report took several years to write, and became an entire book about zoophilia, Spink's life, and the treatment of animals in today's society. The events in the book wrap up around the time of his late-2014 escape into Canada, leaving much of his later life unrecorded.
