Claudine de Culam was a sixteen-year-old girl who was tried and hanged for the act of bestiality with a dog in Rognon, France in 1601.[1]

The judge investigated the allegations by having Claudine undressed and the dog observed by his female assistants as it leapt upon Claudine. Claudine and the dog were strangled, their bodies burnt and scattered to the four winds, "that as little traces as possible might remain to remind mankind of their monstrous deeds."[2]
