Usage
{{Infobox Court Case | name = [mandatory] | court = | image = | imagesize = | caption = | full_name = | date_decided = | citations = | transcripts = | judges = | prior_actions = | subsequent_actions = | opinions = }}
Parameters
This infobox takes a number of parameters:
- name
- The short name of the case, which should preferably be the same as the article title.
- court
- The name of the court that the case was heard in. [[Wikilink]] the name to a Wikipedia article about the court, if there is one.
- image (optional)
- An image to represent the court, such as a coat of arms. Type the name of the image without the "Image:" prefix and do not wikilink it.
- imagesize (optional)
- The width of the image in pixels, if it is less than 220px. Type the number without the "px" suffix ("150", not "150px"). If this parameter is omitted, the image size defaults to 220px.
- caption
- A caption for the image. Terms in the caption can be wikilinked, if desired.
- full_name
- The full name of the case, including terms like "& Anor" ("and another") or "& Ors" ("and others"). Set out any abbreviations in the short name of the case in full.
- date_decided
- The date the decision was handed down.
- citations
- The number assigned to the case by the court, and/or legal citations to official reports of the case. If a particular case report is available online, hyperlink the citation in question to the website.
- transcripts (optional)
- External links to transcripts of the case, where available.
- judges
- List the judges sitting on the case, in order of their precedence if known. The Chief Justice or President of the court, if he or she is hearing the case, should appear first. The order that the judges' names should appear in is usually shown in reports of the case.
- prior_actions (optional)
- Mention any prior trials or appeals, if the case is an appeal decision. You may also want to mention related cases in a sequence, e.g., Mabo (No. 1) and Mabo (No. 2). Provide external links to legal citations if possible.
- subsequent_actions (optional)
- Mention any later appeals or retrials, where applicable. You may also want to mention related cases in a sequence, e.g., Mabo (No. 1) and Mabo (No. 2). Provide external links to legal citations if possible.
- opinions (optional)
- A very brief summary of the major findings or holdings in the case. Many case reports will have headnotes or summaries of the holdings that can be modified and entered into this field.
