This template is one of several templates used to provide or request sources for articles. |
Usage
This template indicates that an article incorporates text from the Eleventh Edition of the Encyclopædia Britannica, which is now in the public domain. The template should be placed at the bottom of the main page of an article, just above the categories.
The {{1911 talk}} template should also be placed on the article's talk page to add it to the proper category.
The template takes the following optional parameters, which enable more robust citation:

| article | The name of the article as it appears in the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica. |
| url | A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) (web address) for the article online. This paramenter can only be used if the name of the article is provided. Articles from the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica can be found at http://www.1911encyclopedia.org. |
| author | The name of the author of the Encyclopædia Britannica article. This parameter can only be used if the name of the article is provided. |
