You can use this template with no parameters, and it will just say "Template:1911"
Alternatively, the following optional parameters are available. These have been added in support of more robust citation:
- article
- Britannica article name.
- url
- a URL for the article online. Can only be used in conjunction with the article name.
- author
- author of the Britannica article. Can only be used in conjunction with the article name.
For example:

produces
