This template is one of several templates used to provide or request sources for articles. |
Usage
This template should be placed on the main page of the article. The {{1911 talk}} template should also be placed on the talk page. This will add the talk page to the proper category.
You can use this template with no parameters, and it will just say "Template:1911".
Alternatively, the following optional parameters are available. These have been added in support of more robust citation:
- article
- Britannica article name.
- url
- a URL for the article online. Can only be used in conjunction with the article name.
- author
- author of the Britannica article. Can only be used in conjunction with the article name.
For example: {{1911|article=Anarchism|author=[[Peter Kropotkin]]}} produces
{{1911|article=Anarchism|author=[[Peter Kropotkin]]|url=http://62.1911encyclopedia.org/A/AN/ANARCHISM.htm}} produces
(Unfortunately, that particular scanned copy is poor enough that it would not be worth linking from our article.)
