A slash "/" denotes who the participants are in a given sexual situations; m/f for instance means something (story, artwork, etc.) that involves a male and a female. The placement of a person's sex in the slash equation also denotes who is the dominate player. Something designated f/m means the female is dominate player for instance.
Common designations: m/m for male on male, m/f for male on female, f/f for female on female.
