Usage
This rcat template is usually used in template namespace; however, it can be used in any namespace.
- This redirect category (rcat) template populates Category:Redirects to redirect templates by default. If placed on a page in a namespace other than template space, then it will also populate Category:Redirects to template from non-template namespace. If it is used to tag a main-article namespace (mainspace) redirect, then it will also populate Category:Unprintworthy redirects by default. At some point in the future, Jimmy Wales wants to make more printed versions of Wikipedia encyclopedia articles. Redirects in mainspace that target pages in template namespace are not suitable for a printed version. In other words, they are unprintworthy.
- Add this rcat to a redirect page in the following manner:
#REDIRECT [[Template:(target page name)]] {{Redr|to redirect template}}
- Template {{Redr}} is an alias for the This is a redirect template, which may be used to add up to seven appropriate rcats, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page and its comparison page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT [[Template:(target page name)]] {{R to redirect template}}
- This is in accord with instructions found at WP:REDCAT.
- Use this rcat to tag any redirect that targets a redirect category (rcat) template. The redirect may be a shortcut or the result of a page move/rename.
