Bodil Joensen

Bodil Joensen (1944-?) was a female performer in Danish pornographic movies. She entered the "industry" at 17, beginning with "light fetish" pornography, then switched to zoophilia. She starred in four full-length features and several shorts, having sex with various species of animals. However, she primarily earned her reputation as the Boar Girl thanks to the movies shot with pigs on her own breeding centre. The movies she appeared in combined a peculiar blend of the "tolerant contemporary Danish society" image and Scandinavian rustic nostalgia. What made her famous worldwide, however, was the unusual nature of the sexual acts she performed. After 1972 she experienced a sharp deterioration. She underwent very obvious physical and psychological changes, first working as a "live show" and "sexual role play" girl and then ending up in straight street prostitution. Years after her final interview in 1980, her fate is still controversial and uncertain. She is believed to have committed suicide in the early 1980s.
