English: Khajuraho India, Lakshman Temple, Sculpture 09.
The sculpture depicts the Varaha incarnation of Vishnu. Though the head is damaged, the sculpture is identified on the basis of other sculptures of Varaha seen in Khajuraho Temples. One similar sculpture (in same posture) of Varaha is depicted on outer wall of Vamana Temples.
The depiction of goddess Prithvi is also seen in this sculpture. Goddess Prithvi was rescued by Varaha as per Hindu Mythology.
The sculpture is located at inner walls of the sanctum area.
