This sculpture depicts goddess Durga killing deamon king Mahishasura. The goddess is depicted with 10 arms each carrying a weapon. Lion (vahana of Durga) can also be seen. Mahishasura is depicted by Buffalo. The sliced head of Buffalo depicts the killing. The sculpture is located at inner walls (North-West Corner) of the sanctum area. Lakshamana temple is among Khajuraho Group of Monuments(a World Heritage Site) |
