Sexual orientation and zoosexuality

Hani Miletski was arguably the first formal research author discussing whether or not there is a sexual orientation towards animals. The definition of sexual orientation used in this work was based on the work of Francœur (1991) on homosexuality, heterosexuality, and bisexuality Miletski, chapter 13. According to this definition, sexual orientation consists of three aspects that are related to each other:

  1. Emotional orientation - For whom or for what we feel emotions,
  2. Phantasmal orientation - With whom or with what we fantasize about having sex,
  3. Erotic orientation - With whom or with what we prefer to have sex.

For the writing of his report, Alfred Kinsey establishes a simple scale for classifying homosexual, bisexual or heterosexual orientation. This scale varies from “exclusively heterosexual” to “exclusively homosexual” in 7 degrees (0 to 6), it can also be adapted for zoosexual orientation.
