1994-1999 she studied psychology at the Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen, with semesters abroad 1997-1998 in the USA at the University of California. In March 1999 she received her diploma in psychology from the University of Erlangen.
From May to November 1999 she studied psychogerontology at the University of Erlangen, where she also worked on her dissertation from November 1999, which she was able to complete in 2002 . Her dissertation " Love, Violence, and Sexuality in Relationships between Humans and Animals " ( 2002 ) is one of the very few recent studies on the subject of zoophilia.
